2017-2018 Training Program Year
Fall Semester: Tuesday, September 5 – Friday, December 15, 2017
Spring Semester: Monday, January 8 – Sunday, May 27, 2018
The Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program cultivates distinguished dance artists through a philosophy that fosters independent thinking, fearless investigation, and personal depth. The Training Program propels students to thrive by pushing beyond their preconceived limitations and encourages the embodiment of excellence. The ultimate goal of the program is to develop strong, versatile, and intelligent dance artists who are deeply committed and empowered to share their unique voices.
The Training Program is a two-year educational experience for pre-professional dancers ages 17-24. Each year consists of 35 weeks/2 semesters of instruction, during which time participants work with a world-class faculty, including former and current LINES Ballet company members.
Twice yearly, students are privileged to intensely study with Alonzo King in the studio. A remarkable roster of renowned Bay Area, National, and International guest artists conduct workshops and create new works on the students to be showcased in a San Francisco theater performance each semester.
